About the Foundation
The Elise Foundation is an independent family foundation. It supports people working in the arts, nature conservation and humanitarian causes, and keeps the family archive and the paintings and papers of Lise Stigen as the symbol of that commitment.
What we do
Above all, the Foundation exists to carry forward a family commitment to the arts, to the conservation of nature, and to humanitarian work - continued today through the people and causes it supports.
The paintings and papers of the artist Lise Stigen are the clearest symbol of that commitment, and the Foundation honours them by keeping them well and making them properly known.
The Foundation is based in Paris and works with institutions and individuals in France, Norway and further afield.
Our mission
To support people who want to make a difference - in the arts, in the conservation of nature, or in humanitarian causes.
- Arts. Support artists and the people and places that keep art alive.
- Nature conservation. Support work that protects landscapes and the life within them.
- Humanitarian work. Support people facing hardship, wherever that need is most direct.
Governance
The Foundation is managed by a board of Trustees that includes members of the family. The Trustees set its direction and oversee its work.
